“I’m one of you,” Mourinho tells Madridistas

Real Madrid head coach, José Mourinho has issued an emotional message to Real Madrid supporters, reaffirming his bond with the club.

In a statement addressed to “all the Madridistas,” the Portuguese manager reflected on his 2010–2013 tenure and the affection he received during Real Madrid’s 2024 Champions League final triumph over Borussia Dortmund at Wembley.

“I am one of you. But not just today, I have always been, since the day I got presented in 2010, the day I left in 2013, I am one of you,” Mourinho said.

He added, “I have a fantastic memory of Wembley (2024 final) when WE beat Dortmund, and the affection that was shown to me that day.”

Mourinho concluded, “I really am one of you.”

Mourinho managed Real Madrid between 2010 and 2013, winning La Liga in 2011–12 and the Copa del Rey in 2011, before departing amid tensions with parts of the media and club hierarchy.

His return to the spotlight at the 2024 Champions League final in London where Real Madrid defeated Dortmund saw him receive a warm reception from fans, reinforcing his enduring connection with the Madridista base.
