A senior adviser to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has launched a scathing verbal attack on United States President Donald Trump, dismissing his credibility and declaring that Washington’s 2026 military campaign against Tehran ended in strategic failure.
In his remarks, IRGC General Mohammad Reza Naqdi described Trump as “extremely short-sighted and childish,” adding that the American president “has no long-term vision” and speaks without considering the consequences of his words even a day later.
“You can’t trust a word Trump says. His statements have no foundation or consistency. I trust a taxi driver much more than I trust him. Don’t take what he says too seriously,” said Naqdi.
Naqdi went further, asserting that the United States had failed in all its stated war aims, including attempts to overthrow Iran’s government and partition the country during a series of strikes and a collapsed ceasefire earlier this year.
He claimed that instead of fracturing Iran, the conflict had strengthened national unity and given Iranian forces “valuable combat experience” against the U.S. military.
“The US objective was to partition Iran, but now, not only has Iran not been divided, but Iran’s ethnic groups are prouder than ever of being Iranian,” Naqdi said, framing the episode as a clear Iranian victory.
He also accused Trump’s shifting rhetoric and policy flip-flops of undermining American power, telling the media not to “pay so much attention to the words of the current president of the United States because he speaks nonsense.”
The comments come amid heightened tensions over the Strait of Hormuz, where Iran has threatened to escalate if diplomacy fails and the U.S. naval blockade remains in place.
Naqdi’s remarks reinforce Tehran’s hardline narrative that it has outlasted U.S. pressure and emerged strategically stronger, even as both sides trade threats over the vital shipping lane
