Inter Miami has reached a verbal agreement to sign Brazilian midfielder Casemiro after his contract with Manchester United expires on June 30.

The move, aimed at uniting Casemiro with Lionel Messi in Major League Soccer — ends a protracted period of negotiations and clearance over discovery rights involving LA Galaxy.

Transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano confirms, “Inter Miami complete deal to sign Casemiro as new midfielder, here we go! Verbal agreement sealed with all parties involved and all formal steps resolved, now waiting to sign and announce the Brazilian. Casemiro wants to play with Messi. Future in MLS.”

Club insiders say the agreement covers terms acceptable to Casemiro, who will arrive on a free transfer, and that the remaining formalities — including registration paperwork and the official unveiling are expected to be completed in the coming days.

The resolution of discovery-rights issues with LA Galaxy removed the final procedural obstacle that had delayed a public confirmation.

If finalised, the signing would significantly bolster Inter Miami’s midfield, adding World Cup-winning experience and defensive solidity to a roster already highlighted by Messi’s attacking influence.

The move would also reinforce MLS’s growing ability to attract top international talent on free transfers.
