The Lagos State Government has issued a fresh reminder to residents about their rights when buying goods online, stressing that products must match what was ordered and advertised.
In a post shared on X, the state government notes, “ORDERED ONLINE? KNOW YOUR CONSUMER RIGHTS! Goods or products you order online should be delivered as promised.”
The message warns shoppers not to stay quiet if items fall short.
“If the items delivered do not match their descriptions, are different from what you ordered, or fail to meet the expected quality, do not keep silent! Speak up and take action,” it reads.
Residents are directed to report unfair practices to the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA).
The agency can be reached via the toll-free helpline 080 0005 2726 or by email at lasgcopa@gmail.com.
The post ends with a strong declaration: “In Lagos State, Consumers are Kings.”
The advisory comes as online shopping continues to grow across the state, highlighting the need for buyers to hold sellers accountable for quality and accurate delivery.
