LAWMA carries out clean-up exercise around NNS Beecroft in Apapa

The Lagos Waste Management Authority has carried out a comprehensive clean-up and waste evacuation exercise around the NNS Beecroft axis in Apapa as part of efforts to maintain environmental standards ahead of the institution’s anniversary celebration.
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of LAWMA, Muyiwa Gbadegesin, said the exercise formed part of the authority’s ongoing commitment to maintaining cleaner public spaces and strengthening environmental sustainability across Lagos State.
According to him, the operation was executed by LAWMA’s street sweeping and sanitation teams and focused on clearing accumulated waste, restoring road medians and improving environmental sanitation within the corridor.
A statement from the Director, Public Affairs, Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), Mukaila Sanusi, today said Gbadegesin explained that the intervention was aimed at eliminating environmental blackspots, improving the aesthetics of the area and ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment for residents, commuters and visitors within the Apapa axis.
He further noted that LAWMA routinely supports public institutions, government agencies, military formations, markets and other strategic facilities across the state through targeted sanitation interventions and environmental support services.
The LAWMA boss said the interventions were designed to sustain cleaner surroundings and improve public health outcomes across Lagos.
He added that the authority remained committed to collaborative environmental management and would continue to partner institutions and organisations in promoting cleaner and more sustainable environments across the state.
Gbadegesin reiterated LAWMA’s commitment to sustained environmental sanitation interventions across major public corridors and strategic locations in Lagos State.
