Manchester United has announced on Wednesday that Rasmus Højlund has completed a permanent transfer to Napoli, wishing the Danish striker well as he moves on.
“Rasmus Hojlund has joined Napoli on a permanent transfer,” the club said in a brief statement.
“Everyone at the club would like to wish Rasmus all the very best for the future.”
The deal, reported to be worth around €44 million, was triggered after Napoli secured Champions League qualification, activating an obligation-to-buy clause in Højlund’s prior loan agreement.
The 21-year-old scored 26 goals in 96 appearances for United, but struggled for consistent Premier League form before finding renewed momentum during his time in Serie A.
