Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, has announced a surprising shift in his birthday celebration, moving it from November 18 to November 30 in a move tied to his ongoing rift with twin brother Paul Okoye (Rudeboy).
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, Mr P wrote, “Dear Family, Friends, and Fans, I’m making it official. November 18th is no longer my birthday celebration date.
“Please note that I will not be accepting any messages or gifts on that day. My birthday will now be celebrated on November 30th.
“This is a personal decision, and I truly appreciate your understanding. Thank you all.”
The announcement featured an image of a birthday cake emblazoned with “November 30th,” underscoring the change.
The decision appears rooted in the brothers’ public family disputes, as both share the same biological birthdate of November 18, 1981. Mr P, one half of the defunct P-Square duo, has been seeking to carve a distinct identity separate from Paul.
X users reacted swiftly with a mix of mockery and jokes, pointing out the biological reality remains unchanged.
One viral reply quipped, “Bro, you can change the party date but DNA no dey lie 😂.”
Others called the move “peak pettiness,” with comments like: “Twins fighting over birthdays now? Na wa o.”
While some fans expressed support, the online buzz largely highlighted the sibling drama that has simmered since P-Square’s 2017 split.
