The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has established clear guidelines under NIRA 2025 to regulate the operations of foreign and international health insurance providers for businesses emanating from Nigeria.

According to report obtained by Dailyeconomy today from the Commission, the framework is designed to ensure that global standards are balanced with local accountability in the health insurance sector.

According to NAICOM, the guidelines are aimed at regulating foreign and international health insurance providers and strengthening oversight of their operations.

The Commission stated that the new guidelines will ensure protection from unregulated entities operating in the sector.

It added that the framework will also strengthen consumer confidence in health insurance services linked to foreign and international providers.

NAICOM further noted that the guidelines will promote proper partnership and oversight in the engagement between regulators and international health insurance providers.

In addition, the Commission said the framework will enhance transparency and accountability in the operations of foreign and international health insurance providers.
