Oduh Sunday of NEM Insurance Plc has been named the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria Ambassador for the 2026/2027 year.

The announcement was made at the grand finale and award ceremony of the 2026 Insurance Week held in Lagos, where he emerged winner after competing against other contestants from across the insurance industry.

A total of 20 participants representing different insurance companies nationwide contested for the ambassadorial position in what organisers described as a keenly fought competition.

The 2026 Insurance Week was held from May 18 to May 22, 2026, as part of efforts to deepen insurance awareness, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and promote collaboration within Nigeria’s insurance industry.

Speaking on the initiative, the President/Chairman of the CIIN Governing Council, Mrs. Yetunde Ilori, described Insurance Week as a strategic platform designed to improve public understanding of insurance and expand its relevance across different sectors of society.

According to her, the 2026 edition, themed “Insurance: A Future Redefined,” builds on the success of the maiden edition held in 2025.

Ilori noted that the programme seeks to promote insurance education, address long-standing misconceptions about the industry, and encourage wider participation, especially among youths and emerging professionals.
