NEMA distributes relief materials to Kano flood victims

The National Emergency Management Agency has provided relief materials to flood-affected communities in Bagwai and Shanono federal constituency, Kano State.
The distribution exercise, which was carried out by NEMA’s Kano Office, was aimed at supporting residents impacted by the disaster.
This exercise was witnessed by various security stakeholders including the Nigerian Police Force, Nigerian Army, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
Dailyeconomy obtained this in a statement by NEMA on Friday.
It reads, “On Thursday, 27th February 2025, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) provided relief materials to the communities affected by floods in Bagwai and Shanono Federal Constituency, Kano State.
“The distribution exercise was conducted by the NEMA Kano Office, aimed to assist the affected population and ensure judicial use of it.Relief Items distributed were both food and non food items in order to cushion the effect of the disaster.
“Hajiya Zubaida Umar, Director-General, NEMA, represented by the Kano Office Head, expressed deep concern over the unfortunate incidents of the disaster, she further reiterated that the relief materials were not for a compensation for the losses but rather a demonstration of the Federal Government’s assistance in order to ameliorate their sufferings and urged beneficiaries to utilize the items judiciously.
“The Hon. Member House of Representative (Hon. Yusuf Ahmed Badau) commended NEMA’s timely intervention in mobilizing relief items. He informed beneficiaries that the materials were meant to alleviate their sufferings.”
