The embattled Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mojisola Meranda, has criticised the actions of her predecessor, Mudashiru Obasa, who appeared at the Assembly on Thursday and claimed that he remains the Speaker.
She blasted Obasa while speaking to journalists on Thursday at the Lagos State High Court, where the latter had filed a petition challenging his removal.
She said, “I think to me that was just a show of shame because in our job we have numbers that form quorum, so if you are sitting with three or four members, you are only doing theatre.”
Dailyeconomy had on Thursday, reported that the spokesperson for the Lagos State House of Assembly, Stephen Ogundipe, expressed intense displeasure over the lack of communication from party leaders regarding the unexpected return of Obasa to the Assembly.
Ogundipe lamented that lawmakers were left in the dark about Obasa’s actions, creating confusion and uncertainty within the legislative body.
