Pasuma mourns Ogogo, says Yoruba cinema will never be the same’

Fuji music star, Wasiu Alabi Pasuma has paid an emotional tribute to Taiwo Hassan well known as Ogogo, describing the Yoruba film icon’s reported death as a devastating loss to the industry.
In a heartfelt message shared on his social-media page, Pasuma referred to Ogogo as his “dear brother” and “Egbon Mi,” saying he was struggling to come to terms with the news.
“My heart is completely broken. Writing this feels like a nightmare I can’t wake up from,” Pasuma had written.
He praised Ogogo’s resilience and influence, adding, “You fought so hard, but Allah loves you more.”
Pasuma said the Yoruba movie industry would feel the absence of the actor, who was widely known for his commanding screen presence and distinctive roles.
“Yoruba cinema will never be the same without your towering presence and beautiful soul,” he said, adding that although “the tears won’t stop falling,” he took solace in the belief that Ogogo was “resting in perfect peace.”
The singer prayed for Allah to grant the late actor Al-Jannah Firdaus and give his family strength during the period of mourning.
“May Almighty Allah grant you Al-Jannah Firdaus and wrap your beautiful family in His comfort. Sun re o, Egbon Mi,” Pasuma wrote.
