Pérez set to spend entire Real Madrid summer budget on Olise

Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez has reportedly decided to allocate the club’s entire summer 2026 transfer budget to signing Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise, effectively ending the club’s pursuit of Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernández, according to sources close to the club.
Sources say Pérez views Olise — a technically gifted, versatile wide attacker as the marquee signing Real need to refresh their forward options and add pace and creativity to the right flank.
That assessment has prompted the president to prioritise a single high-profile acquisition rather than splitting funds across multiple targets.
A club insider told reporters that Pérez “plans to use Real Madrid’s entire transfer budget this summer on Michael Olise,” adding that the decision is the reason the club “pulled out of any Enzo Fernández deal” and will not pursue further negotiations for the Benfica-born midfielder this window.
If carried out, the move would signal a major strategic shift.
Enzo Fernández, who has been linked with Real in recent windows for his deep-lying playmaking and midfield control, would no longer be on the club’s immediate radar.
The reported reallocation of funds suggests Pérez wants to prioritise attacking reinforcements over midfield additions this summer.
