Police arrest man for attempted suicide in Abuja

The Abuja Police Command has apprehended a young man identified as Shuaibu Alhaji Yushau, who climbed an extremely high broadcast mast owned by Aso Radio in Katampe, Abuja, with a placard to commit suicide on Monday.
The man who claimed to have been observing the mast for about a week before deciding to climb it was according to the statement by the Abuja Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, persuaded by the police operatives before he decided to foil the suicide attempt.
Adeh said in the statement, “With much professional persuasion from the police operatives, the man later identified as Shuaibu Alhaji Yushau was prevented from taking his own life.
“He claimed to have been observing the mast for about a week before deciding to climb it. The suspect is presently in police custody and in stable condition.
Further development will be communicated in due course.
