The Nigeria Police Force has announced a major breakthrough in combating violent crime, arresting two notorious suspects tied to a “one chance” armed robbery syndicate in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

DCP Anthony Okon Placid, Force Public Relations Officer, stated in a statement on Friday, “The Nigeria Police Force, through the Force Intelligence Department Special Tactical Squad (FID-STS), has recorded a major breakthrough with the arrest of two (2) notorious and wanted suspects.”

David Francis (22) and Emmanuel Ibenni, aka “Markfish” (36), were nabbed on March 8 at Sambec Hotel in Mararaba, Nasarawa State, based on actionable intelligence.

The duo belongs to a gang that poses as commercial drivers to lure victims, rob them of cash, phones, and valuables, and sometimes abduct or kill them.

Several victims have identified the suspects.

“The syndicate has been linked to multiple incidents involving the abduction and dispossession of victims,” Placid added.

Investigations continue to hunt the remaining members.

The Force “reiterates its commitment to combating violent crimes and ensuring the safety of lives and property.”
