Inspector General of Police Tunji Disu has issued a directive requiring all police officers to wear visible name tags at all times while on duty, emphasising accountability and professionalism in the Nigeria Police Force.
“All police officers should have their name tags on them at all times while on duty, even me as the IGP, I have my name tag on me,” Disu said in a widely shared video clip.
He pointed to his own uniform to demonstrate compliance, setting a personal example for the rank and file.
The order aligns with Disu’s ongoing reforms to enhance transparency within the force.
Recent initiatives include community policing drives and anti-corruption measures, aimed at rebuilding public trust amid longstanding criticisms of police conduct.
