Kylian Mbappé’s camp has dismissed recent criticisms of the French star as an “overinterpretation” of his recovery process, which they say is “strictly supervised by the club.”

The camp in a statement on Tuesday says, “Part of the criticisms are based on an overinterpretation of elements related to a recovery period strictly supervised by the club.

“This does not corresponding to the reality of the commitment and the work that Kylian does daily for the good of the team.”

The rebuttal comes amid mounting scrutiny over Mbappé’s injury management, work rate, and integration into Real Madrid since his high-profile summer transfer from Paris Saint-Germain.

Frustrated fans have launched online petitions calling for better accountability, fueled by the team’s ongoing trophy drought and tactical struggles in La Liga and Europe.

Adding fuel to the fire, reports emerged that Mbappé rejected club-offered days off to train rigorously at Real Madrid’s Valdebebas facility ahead of this weekend’s blockbuster El Clásico against Barcelona.

Sources close to the player say this underscores his focus on regaining peak fitness, not just for the club but also as he eyes glory at the 2026 World Cup.
