Raphinha ruled out of Scotland match after right-thigh muscle injury

Brazil winger, Raphinha has been ruled out of the Selecao’s next World Cup group game against Scotland after tests confirmed a muscle injury to the posterior area of his right thigh, the Brazil medical team said.

Raphinha suffered the problem in the first half of Brazil’s 3-0 win over Haiti on Friday, June 19, 2026.

He felt pain in the back/posterior muscle of his right thigh (hamstring area), was assessed on the pitch and was substituted around the 40th minute as a precaution.

He walked off the field unaided.

The player will remain with the Brazil squad at the tournament and undergo intensive treatment in the hope of returning for the later stages, but he will miss the upcoming match against Scotland.

The absence of Raphinha, a key attacking contributor for both club and country this season increases pressure on Brazil’s forward options as the team manage recovery and rotation during the World Cup.
