Russian PL club Krasnodar reject Jadon Sancho despite winger’s willingness to join

Russian Premier League side Krasnodar has turned down the chance to sign free agent Jadon Sancho, even though the England international was open to a move to the club.
According to reports from Russian outlet Championat, Sancho was offered to the southern Russian champions, and the 26-year-old was prepared to join the RPL side.
However, Krasnodar declined to pursue the deal, and talks never progressed to an advanced stage.
No official reason for the rejection has been given.
Sancho has been without a club since the end of June 2026, when his Manchester United contract expired.
The former Borussia Dortmund star left Old Trafford as a free agent after a difficult five-year spell that failed to live up to the high expectations that accompanied his big-money transfer from Germany in 2021.
After falling out of favour at United, Sancho spent successive loan periods away from the club.
He returned temporarily to Dortmund, then moved to Chelsea (where he won the UEFA Conference League) and spent the 2025-26 season on loan at Aston Villa, helping them win the UEFA Europa League while making 39 appearances across all competitions.
Despite the silverware, his goal contributions remained limited.
Once regarded as one of Europe’s brightest young talents during his breakthrough years at Dortmund, Sancho’s career has taken a sharp turn.
Now a free agent approaching his mid-20s, the rejection by Krasnodar leaves him still searching for a permanent club as the new season progresses.
