African Action Congress (AAC) 2027 presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has claimed that a phone stolen from a member of his team during a violent attack in Ado-Ekiti has been traced to the Governor’s Lodge in Ekiti State.

He made this claim in a statement shared via X on Sunday.

Sowore wrote, “One of the phones stolen from a member of our team during Friday’s brutal attack in Ado-Ekiti has now been traced to the Governor’s Lodge in Ekiti State.”

He attached a map screenshot appearing to show the phone’s tracked location and route in the state capital.

Sowore called on the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services (DSS) to “immediately release the CCTV footage from Tawakalitu Restaurant to the public,” adding, “You cannot bury the evidence.”

The incident occurred on Friday, October 30, 2026, at Tawakalitu Restaurant in the Dalimore area of Ado-Ekiti.

Sowore and members of his entourage had stopped to eat after a radio interview at Midas FM when a group of men stormed the premises, scattered food, assaulted team members, and stole phones and other items.

Sowore sustained injuries and later described the episode as a coordinated attack that he linked to political thugs with alleged ties to the state government and security agencies.

Ekiti State Police later announced the arrest of 11 suspects in connection with the attack and the recovery of items including multiple phones, walkie-talkies, and other materials.

Sowore has accused authorities of protecting alleged masterminds and downplaying the severity of the assault, while insisting the phone tracking raises further questions about those involved.
