Sowore mocks Tinubu’s ‘once-a-day meal’ claim

African Action Congress presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has mocked a claim by Nigeria Revenue Service Chairman Zacch Adedeji that President Bola Tinubu eats only once a day.

Adedeji made the statement during an interview on Channels Television, while defending Tinubu against criticism over the cost of governance and the alleged extravagant lifestyle of public officials.

He also claimed that the president walks from his residence to his office and only uses a vehicle when travelling to the airport.

Defending Tinubu’s lifestyle, Adedeji reportedly asked: “So what is living large? The president eats once in a day,” Dailyeconomy reports.

Reacting in a post on X, Sowore sarcastically questioned what the president eats, accompanying his comment with a photograph of Tinubu seated at a table.

“If Tinubu eats only once a day, according to his newest vuvuzela, Zacch Adedeji, then Nigerians deserve to know, what exactly does Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialabat eat, Brownies? Inquiring minds want to know!”

Sowore’s post appeared to ridicule the official portrayal of Tinubu as a leader who maintains a modest lifestyle despite occupying Nigeria’s highest political office.

Adedeji’s comments have generated reactions amid public concern over rising living costs and the government’s spending.
