President Bola Tinubu has commissioned the newly completed Collector Road C01 and its bridge in the FCT’s Institution and Research District, saying the capital’s modernization is “a microcosm of the transformation we are bringing to the entire Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
This was made known in a statement on Wednesday by Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to The President on Media & Communications (Office of The Vice President).
Speaking through Vice‑President Kashim Shettima, the President called infrastructure “the greatest enabler of economic prosperity” and said road projects open up districts, invite investment and create jobs.
“We promised Renewed Hope. And today, we are not just looking at the physical road; we are looking at a promise kept,” he said.
Tinubu credited rapid delivery to emergency procurement and praised FCT Minister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike for overseeing the works.
The project, which includes a link bridge, underground drainage and solar street lights has generated hundreds of jobs and will ease movement for students, lecturers and residents, officials said.
FCT Minister Wike thanked the President for resources and the FCTA’s removal from the TSA, while Minister of State Dr. Mariya Mahmoud vowed residents’ support for maintenance.
The Federal Capital Development Authority described the road as “critical to the development” of the research and education district.
