Video: Iran claims heavy damage, US casualties in Jordan base strikes

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed that its missile and drone attacks inflicted heavy damage on US military bases in Jordan, killing or injuring a “significant number” of American commanders and soldiers.

IRGC spokesperson Ebrahim Zolfaghari said the strikes targeted Camp Titin, a US Marine facility near the Gulf of Aqaba, and the Prince Hassan airbase, where hangars housing RQ-4 and MQ-9 drones were reportedly located.

The IRGC also claimed that several drones were destroyed and that pilots and technical crew members were among the casualties.

The attacks were described as retaliation for an alleged US strike on a wedding gathering in Kuhestak, in Iran’s Hormozgan province.

Iranian authorities said shrapnel from the strike hit the residential building, killing four people, including a child, and injuring more than 50 others.

Some local reports later put the number of injured at between 63 and 68.

In a statement shared by Iranian media, Zolfaghari vowed that Iran’s offensive would continue until the United States “regrets its crimes.”

He warned of “heavier, broader and more destructive” responses, while accusing US forces of being “child-killing.”

US officials cited in initial reports said there were no American casualties from the attacks on US bases in Jordan, while Jordan’s military said it intercepted 10 of 13 Iranian missiles that entered its airspace.

The reported escalation comes amid renewed US-Iran hostilities, with Iranian forces also targeting American-linked sites in Bahrain, Kuwait and Iraq.

Competing claims over the extent of damage and casualties remain disputed by both sides.
