Video: Fake Moses tries to part sea, runs as wave hits

A video posted May shows a man dressed in robes kneeling in shallow surf and holding a book as a small crowd cheers and raises their arms, apparently encouraging him to imitate the biblical act of parting the sea.
The unknown man at one point stands with a staff raised dramatically, but when a large wave barrels directly toward him he abruptly turns and runs back to shore, getting splashed and knocked around as onlookers react.
The clip, shared on social media, has drawn humorous reactions and spirited debate.
