Video: Iranian FM Araghchi says he survived strikes that killed Khamenei, reveals emerging “from the rubble”

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has recounted surviving the February 2026 airstrikes that Iran says killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Araghchi revealed that he was in the office that was hit and “was emerging from the rubble” at the moment of the leader’s death.
Araghchi in an interview said he was inside the targeted office when the strikes occurred and provided a first‑person account of escaping the wreckage.
“At the moment of his martyrdom, I was in the office that was attacked.
“I was emerging from the rubble,” he said.
The footage from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) showed “about 50 Israeli jets” striking the Tehran compound.
