After Brazil’s dramatic 2-1 victory over Japan in the 2026 World Cup Round of 32 at NRG Stadium on Monday night, Japanese supporters stayed behind to clean their sections of the stands and a high-profile visitor pitched in.
Video footage circulating on social media shows fans methodically collecting litter and wiping down seats following the stoppage-time winner by Gabriel Martinelli, which overturned Japan’s 1-0 halftime lead from Kaishu Sano’s 29th-minute strike.
The footage also captures popular streamer IShowSpeed, wearing a Brazil jersey, moving through the aisles and helping gather trash into blue bags while engaging with fans from both countries as phones recorded the spontaneous cleanup.
The tidy-up underscored a quiet but widely praised tradition among some traveling Japanese supporters: remaining after matches to leave stadiums in better condition than they found them.
Brazil advanced to the last 16 after Casemiro’s 56th-minute equalizer and Martinelli’s late winner, capping a thrilling comeback against a resilient Japanese side.
