Manchester United has announced that academy graduate Kobbie Mainoo has signed a new contract extending his stay at the club until 2031.

The Premier League giants celebrated the 21-year-old midfielder as “one of our own” in an emotional video that underscores his deep local roots and unwavering loyalty to the badge.

“I’m blessed to call Man United home. Proud to sign for five more years,” Mainoo said in a statement following the signature, posing alongside his agent, David Lockwood from CAA Stellar.

The heartfelt video features Mainoo reflecting on his journey: growing up near Old Trafford, the unwavering support from the academy, and his immense pride in representing the club.

“The club will always be my home,” he declares, while vowing a hunger for more silverware and success.

It signals a major boost for United’s rebuilding phase under manager Carrick, locking in a key young talent on improved terms amid a squad overhaul.

Mainoo, who broke into the first team during the 2023/24 season and starred for England at Euro 2024, has become a cornerstone of the midfield.

This deal cements his role as a homegrown star poised to lead the Red Devils’ resurgence.
