Nigeria’s National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has uncovered parcels of cocaine concealed within the walls of a carton of clothes at a courier firm in Lagos, the agency said.

Spokesperson Femi Babafemi shared video footage on Sunday showing officers cutting into the clothing carton and removing cellophane-wrapped packets of the drug.

The seizure amounted to 170 grams of cocaine destined for Australia, according to the NDLEA.

The operation also intercepted consignments of opioids hidden in similar carton packaging that were bound for the United Kingdom, illustrating a recurring smuggling tactic in which traffickers embed narcotics within shipment structures to evade detection.

“The moment @ndlea_nigeria officers discovered parcels of cocaine buried in the walls of carton of clothes heading to Australia,” Babafemi wrote on social media alongside the footage, underscoring the agency’s focus on routine cargo screening at Lagos courier facilities.

NDLEA said the interception reflects intensified efforts to target sophisticated concealment methods used by drug trafficking networks operating from Nigeria to international markets including Australia and the UK.
