Video: Osun governor prostrates to honour Davido’s father after re-election victory

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has been seen prostrating fully in the traditional Yoruba “dobale” style to honour his elder brother, Dr Adedeji Adeleke, following his re-election victory declared on August 15, 2026.
In a 45-second video clip, the governor remains prostrate as Dr Adeleke bends over him, places a hand on his back and removes his cap before offering prayers for the governor and his administration.
Family members, aides and other onlookers watched and recorded the emotional moment, which has since attracted widespread attention online.
The gesture was widely interpreted as a reflection of the close bond between the brothers.
Adeleke has reportedly regarded his elder brother as a father figure since the death of their father.
People praised the governor for demonstrating humility and preserving Yoruba cultural values, noting that respect for elders remains important regardless of political position or public status.
