United States President Donald Trump has reacted to an armed security breach at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on April 26, 2026, describing the suspect as looking “pretty evil” and a “sick person”.
The incident involved 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen from California, who allegedly charged a White House checkpoint armed with a shotgun, handgun, and knives. Secret Service agents swiftly apprehended him, preventing any further escalation, Dailyeconomy reports.
Speaking after the incident, Trump said, “I mean, he was a guy who looked pretty evil when he was down. You know, they had him down and he was fighting hard. In my opinion, a sick person. Who would do that but a sick person? But I think you’re gonna find everything about him.
“No reason to talk about it now. By tomorrow at this time — long before this time — you’re going to know a lot of things about them. They seem to think it was a lone wolf and I feel that too.”
However, Trump praised the Secret Service’s rapid response, adding, “They acted very quickly and I was impressed by the Secret Service. I mean, I’m the one that would complain. You don’t have to complain from me. I would be complaining.”
The breach occurred amid heightened security at the high-profile dinner event.
