Video: Trump claims US is winning big against Iran, says Tehran knows extent of losses

United States president Donald Trump has claimed that America is “winning big” in its military confrontation with Iran, insisting that Tehran is fully aware of the scale of its losses even as international media downplays the success of US operations.
In a video clip, Trump declared that the United States had sunk 159 Iranian ships, destroyed Iran’s air force, and “decimated” its leadership during 2026 military operations aimed at preventing Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons and reopening the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.
“We’re winning big with the Islamic Republic of Iran. Nobody has any idea how successful we are. They don’t want to write it,” Trump said in the footage.
“You know who knows how well we’re doing? Iran.”
Trump’s remarks come amid heightened tension in the Gulf following a series of US-led strikes on Iranian naval assets, air defences and command structures, which Washington says were necessary to neutralise threats to global shipping and block Iran’s path to a nuclear weapon.
The president framed the campaign as a decisive victory, arguing that the true extent of Iran’s setbacks is being deliberately underreported.
