Video: Trump invites 16-year-old lifeguard, family to White House, vows high civilian honour

United States President Donald Trump has said he will bring a 16-year-old lifeguard and his family to the White House and possibly accompanied by the person the teen rescued to present “a High Civilian Honor” for bravery.
“We’re going to bring this heroic young man, and his family, into the White House with, perhaps, the boy he saved, to give him a High Civilian Honor. Very brave, he deserves it!” Trump wrote in a social media statement announcing the planned recognition.
The post also cited praise from Eric Trump, who urged formal recognition after a viral video showed the teen battling powerful waves and currents to pull a struggling swimmer to safety using a flotation device.
“Give this 16-year-old lifeguard the highest civilian honor. This is truly the best of America! Well done!” Eric Trump wrote.
As the 47th president, Trump framed the planned ceremony as an official celebration of individual courage and exemplary American character.
Albeit, the administration has not yet released a date for the visit or specified which civilian award would be presented.
