United States President Donald Trump has extended a formal invitation to Chinese President Xi Jinping and Madame Peng Liyuan for an official White House visit on September 24, 2026, during a speech at a high-level summit here.
“Thank you again, President Xi, for this beautiful welcome,” Trump said.
“And tonight it is my honour to extend an invitation to you and Madame Peng to visit us at the White House this September 24th — and we look forward to it.”
The gesture underscores ongoing diplomatic efforts in Trump’s second term, as the two leaders engage in critical talks on trade tariffs, artificial intelligence regulations, Taiwan tensions, and broader global challenges.
Trump’s current trip to China, which began earlier this week, aims to reset bilateral relations strained by previous economic disputes.
