United States President Trump has signaled he may not extend the US-Iran ceasefire expiring Wednesday, vowing to keep a naval blockade on the Strait of Hormuz while hinting at renewed strikes.
“Maybe I won’t extend it (ceasefire) but the blockade is going to remain,” Trump said.
“But maybe I won’t extend that. So if you have a blockade and unfortunately we’re about to start dropping bombs again.”
Trump paired the threat with optimism: a broader deal “is going to happen,” he said, pressing Iran on nuclear materials and regional tensions while holding military options open.
