Lagos State has rolled out 1,710 functioning public toilets to curb open defecation and boost sanitation.
In a statement Saturday, Environment Commissioner Tokunbo Wahab said, “As part of our sustained efforts to eliminate open defecation, we currently have 1,710 functioning public toilets strategically located across the state.”
He called on businesses to help, “We are encouraging filling stations, banks, eateries to make their restrooms accessible to the public.”
Wahab stressed enforcement, noting offenders “are being arrested and prosecuted.”
