Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez have revealed why they chose to hold their wedding ceremony privately, with only their five children in attendance.
The couple exchanged vows in an intimate civil ceremony at their home in Cascais on August 11, 2026, choosing their living room instead of a lavish public celebration.
Speaking to Vogue, Georgina explained that the location was selected because it represents the family’s everyday life.
“We chose the living room where we have breakfast, lunch and dinner, where we live our everyday life,” she said.
She added that the couple wanted their children to associate the place with a special family memory.
“In 30 years, I want our children to think: something beautiful happened here at this table, our parents exchanged their wedding vows,” said Georgina.
The private ceremony reportedly marked the couple’s 10th anniversary of meeting at a Gucci store in Madrid.
Ronaldo and Georgina wore custom Gucci outfits for the occasion.
Despite choosing a small ceremony, the couple are expected to hold a larger celebration with family and friends at a later date.
