Vitality Health International becomes Discovery Health, strengthens Nigeria partnership with Leadway Health HMO

Discovery Health has rebranded Vitality Health International (Africa) as Discovery Health – Global Health Solutions, a move aimed at strengthening its next-generation healthcare offering for employers in Nigeria and across Africa.

The company said the transition reflects the evolution of its established employer health insurance business, integrated with the Vitality wellness programme, while introducing expanded healthcare offerings to meet the changing healthcare needs of employers and employees on the continent.

As part of the renewed strategy, Discovery Health – Global Health Solutions will continue its partnership with Leadway Health HMO, a relationship that dates back to 2022. The partnership is expected to support local market relevance and ensure seamless healthcare solutions for employers and workers in Nigeria.

Chief Executive Officer of Discovery Health – Global Health Solutions, Emma Knox, said although the business name has changed, its commitment to clients and its core purpose remains unchanged.

According to Knox, the rebrand will support future-focused growth by maintaining partnerships with in-market insurers across Africa while also expanding into broader healthcare solutions, including its Administration Services Only offering, which provides fully managed healthcare administration services.

She noted that the partnership with Leadway Health has supported the company’s growth in Nigeria and strengthened its ability to deliver health insurance solutions at scale.

Chief Executive Officer of Leadway Health, Tokunbo Alli, said the continued relationship reflects a shared commitment to improving access to healthcare and enhancing the quality of life for employers and employees across Nigeria.

Discovery Health said employers across Africa would continue to benefit from its more than three decades of experience in healthcare administration and managed care. The company currently provides administration and managed care services to more than 3.6 million members in Africa.

The company added that its integrated healthcare platform combines data science, advanced digital systems and clinical expertise to deliver efficient administration, sophisticated risk management and improved healthcare outcomes.
