Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, has delivered sarcastic rebuke to online critics who issued a scathing scorecard rating the administration poorly on key fronts like the economy, corruption, rule of law, and foreign policy.
In a social media response, Onanuga dismissed the critique as “A tale of the conveniently blind, deaf and dumb,” adding, “You need Jigi Bola to enable you appreciate the innumerable achievements of the Tinubu administration.”
The viral scorecard had praised aspects of previous leaders, including Obasanjo, Yar’Adua, Jonathan, and Buhari, while portraying Tinubu’s performance as lacklustre.
Onanuga labeled it “conveniently selective,” arguing that detractors are willfully ignoring the administration’s successes and require “Jigi Bola”.
Jigi in Yoruba means glasses.
