Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian has vowed that the nation will keep aloft the flag championed by a martyred leader.

The president in a statement shared via his social media handle on Saturday noted that widespread sorrow has been met with renewed resolve and hope.

“The great nation of Iran, with hearts brimming with sorrow and resolves infused with hope, will prove that the flag for whose enduring raise the martyred leader struggled shall not fall to the ground,” Pezeshkian wrote, invoking both collective grief and determination.

He added a religiously resonant promise, “And We desire to bestow a favour upon those who have been oppressed on earth and make them leaders and make them the inheritors.”

Pezeshkian’s remarks come amid a period of heightened national attention following the leader’s death; they frame the government’s commitment to carry forward his legacy.
