Lagos highlights ongoing LAWMA Cleanup drive across key locations

Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, has announced that the LAWMA Intervention Team continued cleanup operations on Sunday across several strategic spots in the state.
In a post on X, Wahab stated that the effort is “reinforcing the state’s commitment to maintaining a cleaner and healthier environment.”
The operations covered Oye Roundabout (Spot 1), Daleko Bridge, Odo-Olowu Bus Stop, Lord’s Chosen Junction, Ijesha Bus Stop and Walkway, Cele Okota junction, Mile 2, and other locations within the axis.
“The intervention is part of ongoing efforts to sustain environmental cleanliness and ensure that public spaces across Lagos remain clean, safe, and accessible,” he added, using the hashtags #CleanerLagos, #LagosState and #LAWMA.
Photos accompanying the post showed orange LAWMA trucks and workers clearing refuse from roadsides and bridges amid regular traffic.
Some residents responding to the update called for the exercise to be extended to areas such as Alimosho and for additional measures including power-washing and repairs to damaged curbs.
