Netizens react as Burnaboy denies using songwriters

Nigerian Award-winning singer, Damini Ogulu well known as Burnaboy has denied using songwriters.

The singer on Sunday according to his X (formally Twitter) post, said the names he has been crediting on his songs are names of producers and feature artists, not songwriters’ names.

The post read, “Any name you see credited on my songs are only producers of the songs or featured artists, not writers. But for some reason the western world considers producers as writers of the instrumentals and they just throw their names on there as writers. Nobody fit write for Odogwu.”

However, some months ago, Billboard accused Burnaboy of sampling American musician’s songs and they listed more than 10 songs that the singer has sampled.
