Oyedele, Wike pledge joint push for FCT infrastructure renewal, tax harmonisation

Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele has claimed he held a productive bilateral meeting with Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike.

The meeting which was held this week was according to a statement obtained from Oyedele to strengthen collaboration on infrastructure renewal and tax reforms across the Federal Capital Territory.

“The Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Taiwo Oyedele, received the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, His Excellency Nyesom Wike, in a productive bilateral meeting during the week,”Oyedele wrote.

According to the Finance Minister, discussions focused on advancing the FCT’s infrastructure renewal agenda, with particular praise for Wike’s commitment to completing previously abandoned projects “to unlock value for residents.”

The ministers also reviewed plans to harmonise tax administration within the FCT, aiming to eliminate multiple taxation while optimising revenue in line with the new tax reform law
