Rubio warns of catastrophic US-China clash

United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio has described Washington’s relationship with Beijing as a “delicate balancing act,” warning that any military or economic clash between the United States and China would be “catastrophic” for both countries and the wider world.
Speaking in an interview with Lara Trump, Rubio said the U.S. must protect its national interests while avoiding actions that could escalate tensions, especially as the two powers navigate sensitive issues including Taiwan.
“Any conflict between the U.S. and China, be it economic or be it military, God forbid, would be catastrophic for both countries and for the world,” Rubio said.
He added that Washington still has to maintain a working relationship with Beijing, but stressed that diplomacy must be handled carefully to prevent confrontation.
