Activist and African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore has described the ongoing case involving Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, the self-styled Director-General of the disputed Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) as the “BIGGEST COVER UP EVER,” accusing authorities of obstruction of justice rather than a genuine investigation.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Sowore claimed the arrest and reported treatment of Adeyemi point to an official cover-up.
He specifically called for the arrest and investigation of President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.
“The arrest and reported dehumanization of Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, the alleged Director-General of a “fake agency,” points to what appears to be an official cover-up rather than a genuine search for truth.
“By now, President Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, @femigbaja should also be under arrest and investigation if the authorities are truly committed to uncovering the facts.”
Sowore further alleged suspicious developments in the case, stating, “So far, the individual alleged to have collected the ₦400million bribe on @femigbaja behalf has reportedly died under mysterious circumstances, while the hotel allegedly used for the exchange has since been demolished.
“In addition to the real crimes, we are now witnessing obstruction of justice by the @officialABAT criminal regime.”
The PFIPC has been at the center of a major controversy after the Presidency, through Gbajabiamila, publicly declared it a non-existent entity.
Adeyemi faces charges including forgery, impersonation, and conspiracy.
Police investigations reportedly uncovered forged documents, fake appointment letters, and the use of falsified government seals.
A Federal High Court in Abuja recently issued a bench warrant for Adeyemi’s arrest after he failed to appear for arraignment, Dailyeconomy reports.
He was later arrested in Osun State.
