President Bola Tinubu has commissioned 10 newly built residential units for Federal High Court judges in Katampe District, Abuja.
Tinubu in a statement obtained on Wednesday from Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to The President on Media & Communications (Office of The Vice President) said true judicial independence is built on the dignity of our judicial officers.
Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Tinubu described the housing project as more than buildings, calling it “a deliberate shield against vulnerability, a statement that Nigeria values those who interpret her laws.”
He said providing secure, comfortable accommodation is “not a privilege, but a national imperative,” and urged judges to repay the gesture with “an unwavering commitment to the swift, fair, and transparent dispensation of justice.”
The President praised FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for timely delivery, saying “performance is the only currency that matters in public service.”
Wike said the project’s completion reflects the administration’s commitment to judicial independence and the rule of law.
Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho, welcomed the inauguration as a reaffirmation of the importance of an independent judiciary
