President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election, describing the victory as evidence that democracy is flourishing under the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led federal administration.
Tinubu said he called Adeleke earlier in the day to congratulate him on his electoral victory and praised the people of Osun State for reaffirming their confidence in the governor.
“The re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke in the just-concluded Osun election is a fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in our country under the All Progressives Congress administration,” Tinubu said.
The President urged Adeleke to unite residents across political divides and focus on the growth, stability, and socio-economic development of the state.
“Now that he has won, Governor Adeleke must unite the people of Osun State and rally them for growth, stability, and social and economic progress, regardless of the political choices they made at the election,” he said.
Tinubu also commended the other contestants for their courage and discipline, saying their participation strengthened Nigeria’s democratic culture.
He further praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for conducting what he described as a peaceful and transparent election that reflected the will of the people.
“The outcome of the election reflects the will of the people and is a fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in our land,” the President added.
Tinubu wished Adeleke success as he prepares to lead Osun State for another four-year term and prayed for the continued growth and strengthening of Nigeria’s democracy.
