United States President Donald Trump has claimed that a forthcoming deal with Iran will far surpass the JCPOA, the so-called “Iran Nuclear Deal” negotiated under former President Barack Obama and Joe Biden, which he described as one of the worst agreements ever made for U.S. national security.

In a worded statement on Monday, Trump asserted that the JCPOA was “a guaranteed road to a nuclear weapon,” which his administration’s emerging deal will prevent entirely.

He highlighted specific flaws in the prior agreement, including the delivery of $1.7 billion in cash—loaded onto a Boeing 757 and flown to Iran for unrestricted use by its leadership.

“He emptied out all of the cash from banks in D.C., Virginia, and Maryland,” Trump said, quoting bankers who called it unprecedented.

He further claimed hundreds of billions more were paid to Iran overall.

Trump credited his decision to terminate the JCPOA with averting nuclear threats.

“If I did not terminate that ‘Deal,’ nuclear weapons would have been used on Israel, and all over the Middle East, including our cherished U.S. military bases,” he stated.

Criticising media coverage, Trump targeted “Fake News” outlets like The Washington Post’s David Ignatius, whom he called a “lightweight journalist” for praising the “dangerous” and embarrassing pact.

The president promised that a Trump-brokered deal would ensure “peace, security, and safety” not just for Israel and the Middle East, but for Europe, America, and the world.

“It will be something that the entire world will be proud of, instead of the years of embarrassment and humiliation that we have been forced to suffer due to incompetent and cowardly leadership,” Trump concluded.
