Video: Iran makes regional ceasefire condition for US deal

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary, Mohsen Rezaei, has said an end to the wars in Gaza, Lebanon and Syria would be a key condition for any agreement between Tehran and Washington.
Speaking in an interview with Al-Manar TV, Rezaei said Iran viewed security crises across West Asia as interconnected, insisting that a broader regional de-escalation must precede any understanding with the United States.
“The end of war in Gaza, Lebanon and Syria is a condition of any agreement with the U.S.,” Rezaei said.
He stated that Israel must withdraw from Lebanese territory and halt its attacks on Syria, while also describing Beirut’s southern suburbs, commonly known as Dahiyeh, as an Iranian “red line.”
Rezaei further linked the full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to Washington’s compliance with what Tehran considers necessary steps to reduce regional tensions.
“The issues of Gaza, Lebanon, Syria and the Strait of Hormuz are not separate files,” he said, according to the position outlined in the interview.
“They are part of one security equation.”
His remarks signal Iran’s position that any prospective deal with the US cannot be limited to bilateral concerns, such as sanctions, nuclear issues or maritime security, but must also address the conflicts involving Israel, Lebanon, Syria, and Gaza.
The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most strategically important maritime routes, making Iran’s position significant for global energy markets and wider regional diplomacy.
