Video: Oyo gov declares 2027 presidential bid under APM

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has formally announced his candidacy for the 2027 presidential election on Thursday, throwing his hat into the ring under the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) platform.
Speaking at a vibrant Unity Mega Rally in Ibadan on Thursday, the governor declared from the official Oyo State podium, “I, Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, Excellency, announced my candidacy for the position of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
Dressed in an APM-branded polo shirt and cap, Makinde gestured emphatically, pointing fingers for emphasis as thousands of cheering supporters raised hands and waved flags in unison.
The event, packed with party faithful and dignitaries, marks a pivotal moment in Nigeria’s evolving 2027 election landscape.
Makinde, 56, has positioned himself as a reformist leader, leveraging his record in infrastructure, education, and security in Oyo State.
