Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has criticised what he called “unacceptable duplicity” in the international treatment of missile capabilities.

Speaking during a meeting with Iranian officials in Islamabad, the PM stated that it is unfair for some countries to possess ballistic missiles while Iran is denied the same.

“There cannot be double standards where some countries can have ballistic missiles and Iran should not. You cannot digest this kind of duplicity,” Sharif said.

Sharif’s comments come amid renewed debate over weapons proliferation and selective enforcement of international rules in the Middle East.
